Trendy DIFC spot BOCA is hosting a one-off special vegetarian evening, to cater to all the discerning veggies in the city.
Time Out Dubai’s Highly Commended Best European restaurant BOCA will be laying on a special four-course dinner this Friday (April 5), paired with grape or fresh juice.
Diners will be treated to a menu composed by chef Matthijs Stinnissen made with locally-sourced ingredients from five different UAE farms. Dishes include whole roasted local cauliflower, homemade ricotta, charred local heirloom tomatoes, and more.
Expect a saffron risotto wild mushroom, Parmesan shallot crumble with homemade ricotta, the “BOCA Garden” that includes glazed local vegetables, aubergine purée, local herbs and flowers, a whole-roasted cauliflower served up with romanesco, lettuce, hazelnut and black truffle dressing, along with the homemade ricotta, local heirloom tomatoes and basil.
Guests can also look forward to a halloumi and walnut terrine cheese board, with crystallised honeycomb and brioche bread.
The menu concludes with a date and fig cheesecake served with vanilla, cinnamon and pistachio ice cream.
If you’re after something to wash it all down with, there’s plenty of fresh juice on offer to do just that. Priced at Dhs195 for a juice paring menu, sip on a tomato, bell pepper, horseradish, chives and herb salt mixture, along with a parsnip, kale, apple, mint and lime drink. There’s also blackberry, fig and elderflower juice.
Finally, expect a selection of grape pairings to choose from to compliment the green dishes. The grape paring menu is priced at Dhs295.
BOCA is known for its brilliant twists on Mediterranean dishes, so expect very much the same with this new veggie menu.
The restaurant in DIFC is open from Monday to Saturday, noon until 1am, and on Sunday from noon until midnight. Make sure you’re there when the new menu launches.
