Is there a more perfect Friday than spending the day with your toes in the sand and a cold pint in your hand? Breeze Beach Grill serves up a super beach brunch every week, and if you’re lucky, you’ll bag one of the tables on the sand. Set at the far end of Club Vista Mare, Palm Jumeirah, you’ll be treated to sweeping views of Dubai’s coastal skyline. Head along to Nikki Beach Dubai’s brunch on a Saturday for a proper party, or for a chilled-out, charming Friday version then the resort’s Café Nikki (approached via a different entrance than the beach club) serves up a great one. The brunch has a French theme and aims to make you feel like you’re in the Côte d’Azur. There’s a holiday vibe, quality drinks and a mix of à la carte and buffet. Set by the hotel pool it feels like an escape from the city, and the views out to sea are stunning.

This chilled-out spot at Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai has a delightful beachside setting – and you’ll also get pool and beach access included. The setting is Riviera chic – all blues and whites – and there’s a welcoming, relaxed vibe. Dishes on the Mediterranean menu include lemon risotto, catch of the day, tuna tartare and baby chicken. This is a super brunch. If you’re a buffet fan you’ll love it, if you’re not – get ready to be converted. If you haven’t heard of Bubbalicious, you’re either new to Dubai or a non-bruncher. This longstanding party brunch is a popular option with partygoers, families and more. It’s not the best in the city in terms of food – but there’s plenty of it. There’s a massive buffet, heaps of live counters, drinks stations and live entertainment. Time to take advantage of the weather by chilling out on the vast terrace.

Jumeirah Al Qasr
The buffet brunch to end all buffet brunches, Al Qasr features loads of live drinks stations and hundreds of dishes across three different restaurants – American steakhouse The Hide, Spanish tapas spot Al Hambra and international dining room Arboretum. However, make sure you walk around the whole layout before starting or you might miss something delicious. With a sizeable outdoor terrace overlooking the waterways of Madinat Jumeirah and offering views of Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, it’s even possible to hop on an abra after brunch to take you around the resort.

Jumeirah Mina A’Salam
This brunch is focuses on table-side panache in addition to the sizeable buffet. During the afternoon, chefs bring round various dishes including salmon and beef Wellington, which is finished live in front of diners’ eyes. While the spread here isn’t as grand as other buffet brunches, there are still plenty of solid options – with lots of drinks stations dotted around (although only grape is served to the table – you’ll need to collect everything else yourself). Mina A’Salam attracts a more grown-up crowd than the more family-friendly buffets at other Jumeirah hotels, and the surroundings are extremely elegant – nab yourself a table on the terrace over the water if you can.

Recently crowned the No. 1 in the city, it’s not to be missed. A chic, Creekside meal – the outdoor space on at The Promenade is taken over by tables, and a live band, for the swanky event every Friday. It’s one of the priciest offerings in the city, but the quality and choice justifies it. Don’t miss the stunning display of top-notch, super-fresh seafood, extensive cheese table and live cooking stations, plus there’s a dedicated dessert room.

Candypants’ Ladies Day Pool Party
This brunch from the popular party chain isn’t on the same level as the Friday Dim Sum Disco at Maiden Shanghai, but for a party brunch with views you really can’t beat The Penthouse. This brunch includes pool access, so bring your cozzie, and you’ll get a range of bar snacks, too, which aren’t mind-blowing but you’re there for the al fresco vibe, right?

Fancy a party in a secret garden? Head to Flair No. 5 for a dally around the verge while stuffing your face full of guacamole, mushroom arancini and glazed salmon. The Secret Garden brunch at this cool outdoor spot is in collaboration with Secret Parties and features music from top DJs to keep you dancing all afternoon long.

This super-cool jungle-themed restaurant and bar in Dubai Marina has a lively Friday brunch with Marina views. Indoors there’s plenty of bright green foliage and tropical décor, while the terrace is an excellent place to bag a seat. Winner of Time Out’s Best Casual Newcomer award, this restaurant serves up Latino dishes include ceviche, sushi, grills and fresh fish.

Nikki Beach Dubai
Dig out your fanciest swimwear, this is one beach party brunch that you want to look your best at. From the world-famous beach club chain, Nikki Beach’s Saturday Vie en Rose brunch is a top way to see out the weekend. Take your pick from sushi, salads and more from the buffet before lounging around (and in) the gorgeous pool. There’s live music, entertainment and an upbeat, cool vibe.

Zero Gravity has long been one of Dubai’s top beach clubs and with its Friday Ritual party brunch, alongside its Supernatural Saturday brunch, there’s now a whole weekend of brunching action. Expect bar snacks such as pizza, sliders and salads, as well as a range of drinks stations, DJs and entertainment.

This swanky Italian at Souk Al Bahar has excellent views of Dubai Fountain, so it’s a great spot to tick off seeing the spectacle. Marina Social Share & Social
A swish Marina-side brunch from British chef Jason Atherton, the Share & Social is as it sounds – best for enjoying with groups of friends. And although it’s an excellent brunch all-year-round, the optimum time to book is while it’s still nice enough to sit out on the terrace and soak in the superb views. You’ll get dishes such as hand-chopped beef tartare and our cover star, giant grilled prawns.

This classy Turkish restaurant from chef Colin Clague is a big hit with foodies in Dubai. Much like Marina Social this is a top brunch whatever time of year, but for the best experience the terrace is where it’s at. There’s a fun, upbeat party vibe and the food is excellent (taking Highly Commended in the Best MENA restaurant category). Take a seat, sip on a glass of sparkling and enjoy the yachts sailing in and out of the Marina. RÜYA also has a lazy Saturday brunch if your Friday plans involve lolling around on a beach.

If you have family, friends or a date you want to impress, this swanky Thai restaurant is for you. It’s officially called a lunch (we said this was a classy affair) but it has beverage packages. The restaurant has an intimate terrace set out into the water surrounding Burj Khalifa, so you’ll have excellent views of the world’s tallest building from your front-row vantage spot. And being in the water you’re so close to The Dubai Fountain you’re practically in the show. Food-wise you can expect the restaurant’s signature dishes including green Thai curry, pad Thai, dim sum and papaya salad. And it’s all completely delicious.

Bread Street Kitchen
This top family-friendly gathering from British chef Gordon Ramsay even has an ice cream parlour for the little ones. The garden is taken over by childrens’ activities (we’re not kidding, if you’re dining as a couple you might be best elsewhere) including a bouncy castle and face painting. Food-wise expect classic British dishes including mini fish pies, sausage rolls and sliders, plus à la carte mains. Plus kids get free entry into the Lost Chambers aquarium afterwards, too.

Grab the gang and head down to Dubai Festival City for this al fresco picnic. Set in the gardens of the Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City, you’ll enjoy picking up your picnic items from the live stations and visiting the barbecue. There’s live music as well as kids’ activities, so it’s an excellent choice for a weekend with the family.

The gardens at The Ritz-Carlton Dubai are some of the prettiest in the city. With swathes of green, heaps of vibrant flowers and the view of the sea in the background, it’s a charming and calming spot to spend the day. Caravan throws a family-friendly London-themed brunch every Friday, and the best place to enjoy it is on the expansive terrace – so book in now. There’s a range of stations serving up British classics from full roast dinners to curries, seafood and more. Don’t miss “Pudding Lane” for desserts including sticky toffee pudding and a pick and mix sweet bar.

Head along to this chilled-out spot at Dubai Creek for a cracking lobster bake. This cute Cape Cod-inspired restaurant boasts delightful views over the water and the yachts.
