Four Songkran 2019 deals to try in Dubai

Thai New Year is being celebrated across the city this week, and a number of Dubai’s top restaurants are getting in on the action with an array of deals. Across the city, you’ll find dining offers and celebrations going on, and you won’t want to miss out if you’re in the mood for some Thai grub (and we’ve got a list of the city’s best Thai restaurants here).

Check out these great offers and deals.

Mango Tree Thai Bistro
Head to JBR for this year’s Songkran festival where new restaurant Mango Tree will be putting together a range of different special dishes and drinks to mark the occasion. Food starts from Dhs39 per dish, and you’ll be able to try dishes from the four regions of Thailand. Expect plates like watermelon salad with dry shrimp, papaya street salad, chicken curry, pad thai noodles and more. There will be live performances across the festival, which runs through until Monday April 15.
From Dhs39. Until Mon Apr 15, noon-11pm. Hilton Dubai the Walk, JBR (04 374 7555).

Streetery Food Hall by Zen
Head to this magnificent Asian street food hall in JLT for a special Asian dining experience running through until Wednesday April 17. The Boodle Fight will serve out regional dishes where guests can take as much grub as they’d like throughout the evening. It’ll set you back Dhs369 for four people, and Dhs738 for eight, of course. Traditional Thai dishes will be served up for the evening, including a number that aren’t included on the restaurant’s usual menu.
Dhs369 per four people. Until Wed Apr 17, 5pm-10pm. Cluster D, JLT .

Thiptara
Over at Souk Al Bahar, this absolutely gorgeous Thai restaurant has food as stunning as the views of The Dubai Fountain – fitting considering Songkran is the festival of water. Taking place nightly until Monday April 15, you can get a huge set menu at Thiptara, a previous award-winner at the Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards, with dishes including beef skewers with yellow curry and peanut sauce, vegetable dim sum, Thai green curry and more.
Dhs400 (soft drinks), Dhs500 (house drinks). Until Mon Apr 15, 6pm-11.30pm. Souk Al Bahar, Downtown Dubai (04 888 3444)

Toshi
Head to Barsha Heights and get your hands on a range of different dishes including classic Thai starters, mains and desserts in a huge special buffet. There are live cooking stations with a whole host of curries, noodles and other classics. An unlimited three-and-a-half-hour buffet comes with soft drinks for Dhs199 or three hours of house beverages for Dhs299. Kids aged four to ten can get in on the action for Dhs69.
From Dhs199. Mon Apr 15, 6.30pm-11pm. Grand Millennium Dubai, Barsha Heights (04 423 4170).
