Second branch of Italian restaurant Cipriani in the works

A stripped-back, café concept is set to open in The Dubai Mall

Second branch of Italian restaurant Cipriani in the works

A second Dubai branch of the international Italian restaurant brand Cipriani is in the works, according to the group managing partner of one of the city’s most important leisure brands.

Bulldozer Group’s Evgeny Kuzin said that the company who have brought Dubai restaurants like GAIA and Cipriani, plus many nightlife concepts across the city, recently told Caterer Middle East that a second branch of the early 1900s-inspired Italian restaurant Cipriani, found in DIFC, is being targeted for an opening at The Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue later this year.

According to Kuzin, Cipriani Dolci will be a stripped-back branch of the famous restaurant, leaning more on the café vibe than the fine-dining experience you’ll find in the city’s financial quarter and in its restaurants around the world.

Instead of the classic fare, tuxedo-clad waiters and portcullis décor throughout, Cipriani Dolci will focus more on light dishes and sweets.

“Cipriani is a luxury brand,” Kuzin told Caterer Middle East in an in-depth interview. “I think it’s the most luxurious brand in the restaurant industry – established more than 100 years. It’s going to be a great thing in the mall. It’s a slightly different café version. It’s not going to be pastas, Milanese steak, whole fish… just on the light side.

“I would say it’s planned for October/November. I believe it will be very well received, especially because we’re opening in a busy, high traffic area.”
