We’ve had plastic bans, meal discounts for recycling and even nature-friendly hair salons – now Dubai has a sustainable fine-dining menu to feast on.

Seafood restaurant Pierchic is joining the global fight against over-consumption by rolling out a carefully considered and sustainable set menu.

All ingredients on the five-course menu have been ethically sourced, illustrating the restaurant’s commitment to do more to protect and preserve the environment.

The menu will be served alongside the usual à la carte and is available all summer for Dhs425 per person or Dhs720 with an organic grape pairing.

Chefs have created the bespoke offering having tasted success with a similar sustainable menu to mark World Oceans Day earlier this month.

Dishes on the menu include Dibba Bay oysters from the UAE’s only oyster farm on the country’s east coast, a duo of local hamachi and salmon ceviche with sweet potato and leche de tigre, lobster and locally produced ricotta ravioli, Dibba hammour with harissa, moutabal, koosa and lemon butter sauce and butternut UAE ricotta cheesecake with pumpkin puree and pistachio ice cream.

The restaurant – located at the end of a long jetty near to the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah – is a hit for seafood and is working to protect the oceans it relies on.

It has already been single-use plastics, joining restaurants, cafés and bars across the city, as well as Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central.
