Love a cuppa on your way to work? How about as a mid-afternoon pick-me-up? Fans of Kava & Chai will be thrilled to hear that there are now three new outlets of the coffeehouse in Dubai.

The new coffee shops are in DIFC, Mall of the Emirates and the Tamani Arts Tower in Business Bay.

Kava & Chai opened at Creekside spot Al Seef last summer, and it was a second location in the UAE for the home-grown brand. The first one opened in Sharjah, and the company aims to “tell the story of coffee through flavour”.

The homegrown coffee chain also intends to “celebrate and revive Arab traditions and tastes”.

Kava & Chai also has a focus on sustainability, using renewable and recycled materials when it comes to packaging and uniforms, and uses environmentally certified suppliers. All coffee procured is direct trade – purchased by coffee roasters directly from growers.

Saad Abdallah, General Manager, Kava & Chai, said: “Coffee roasting and drinking as we know it today originated here in the Middle East, and Kava & Chai is committed to portraying this history and culture in a positive and inspiring way. These new locations will become part of the local community, a meeting place where people can engage with each other, share inspiration and enjoy cultural experiences.”

Customers can enjoy many types of coffee, including a cup of the signature Sao Jose coffee – a single origin coffee with a sugarcane sweetness and nutty chocolate taste that’s served both hot or chilled.

The team has “fused the ingredients found on Middle Eastern spice racks and in foodies’ cabinets to make original concoctions with authentic roots”.

Standard drinks are also on the menu – from macchiatos to mochas, frappes and espressos. There are also speciality brews such as drip filter, aeropress and cold brews.
