Vegetarianism and veganism has absolutely exploded in Dubai in the past 12 to 18 months.

And if you fancy a day off meat, MINA Brasserie has launched a special menu for “meat-free Mondays” that’s packed full of delicious-sounding plant-based dishes.

Items on the menu include grilled halloumi with cherry tomatoes on the vine and grilled baguette, roasted beetroots served with warm goat’s cheese and hazelnuts, an aubergine mille-feuille, burrata salad, and an avocado and tomato salad.

Meat-Free Mondays is a global campaign that encourages people to have a meat-free day at least once a week in order to improve overall health and help the planet. The movement was launched in 2009 by Paul (of The Beatles/yesterday fame) Mary and Stella McCartney in 2009. Ten years later, it’s still going strong.

Dining with mate who can’t live without meat? Mina Brasserie’s à la carte menu is still available daily, and features dishes such as wagyu beef tagliatelle, smoked-short ribs, and wood-fired baby chicken.

Can’t get enough of plant-based food? Here are three new vegan openings for you to try.
Mon noon-4pm, 7pm-11.30pm. Ongoing. Four Seasons Hotel DIFC, www.minabrasserie.com (04 506 0100).
