Forget soggy sandwiches, defending yourself from an army of ants and worrying about the weather – this is a picnic we can get on board with.

Marina Social has just launched a new “Summer Social” picnic-style menu which is available throughout August from Sunday to Thursday and comes in at Dhs225 per person.

Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton is at the helm of this menu so you know it’s going to be good.

The Dhs225 picnic kicks off with sausage rolls with ketchup, a traditional Scotch egg with brown sauce, smoked salmon and cream cheese with cucumber ketchup, a vegetarian quiche and some crudités.

Lovely stuff.

Picnickers can then choose between one of three main course options – fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce, grilled flank steak with smoked red pepper aioli and fries, and vegetarians can chomp on “An English Country Garden” AKA a risotto of summer vegetables, wild garlic butter, confit egg yolk and ricotta.

And on to the sweet stuff which you’ll want save room for, strawberry trifle, Mr. Whippy (soft-serve ice cream – you know, the kind you’d beg your mum from the ice cream truck) and Jaffa cake (singular).

All that, from Sunday to Thursday, without the ants.
Dhs225. Sun-Thu 6pm-7.30pm. InterContinental Dubai Marina, www.marinasocialdubai.com (04 446 6664).
