There’s a brand-new menu arrived at family-friendly chain eggspectation – and we can’t wait to check it out. And in even more exciting news, it includes the meat-free Beyond Burger, for plant-based diners.

Canadian chain eggspectation, which has branches in both JBR and City Walk, may be best known for its breakfasts, but there’s now a healthy new day-time menu, too.

Although we’ll forever love the giant stacks of pancakes, massive omelettes, inventive Benedicts and heaps of French toast, vegan diners aren’t quite so keen. But now they can dig into a Beyond Burger – that pea protein-based patty that’s coloured with beetroot and has an authentic, smokey, meaty taste.

The Beyond Burger is Dhs59 and is served with lettuce, onion and sliced tomato on a brioche bun.

There are other healthy new options, too, including a grilled vegetable and ricotta flat bread for Dhs52, a blueberry, grape and goat’s cheese salad (Dhs55) and a breakfast taco, stuffed with avocado, beef bacon, roasted peppers, tomato salsa, scrambled eggs, cheddar, Swiss and gruyère cheese (possibly less healthy, but probably worth it).

The menu is available until the end of August, so get in quick to check it out.

Love Beyond Burgers? You can now get them at BurgerFuel too. Or if you’re more of a pizza fan, Freedom Pizza has a new Beyond Meat pizza to check out.
Prices vary. Open daily 7am-midnight. The Beach, JBR (04 430 7252). Open daily 7pm-11pm. City Walk, Al Safa Street (04 240 6877).
