Whether you have a sweet tooth and want all the chocolate you can get your hands on, some proper pub grub or vibrant music and traditional Mexican dishes, there are loads of new places to check out in Dubai. We bring you three of the best to venture to this weekend.

This Mexican restaurant and bar is housed over two floors and has vibrant décor and top views out across the water. Interiors have Latino flair, with glass piñata chandeliers to the 300 hanging hummingbird alebrijes. The menu boasts a range of classic dishes, including guacamole, Mexican cheese fondue, street-style corn, ceviche and tostadas to start. There’s also a range of salads and tacos, including grilled skirt steak, roasted bone marrow and pacific shrimp varieties. Big plates include Mexican beef stew and grills from the mesquite burning rotisserie.
The Pointe, Palm Jumeirah,

Godiva Chocolate Café
Sweet tooth? Well, have your toothbrush at the ready because those gnashers are going to get one massive treat. World-famous chocolate brand Godiva has opened a café at the Rixos Pre-mium Dubai JBR, which is the first time the brand has opened in a hotel anywhere in the world. While staring out over the Arabian Gulf and Ain Dubai, you can get your hands on some seriously chocolaty treats like freshly baked crêpes stuffed with Godiva chocolate. But that’s just for starters, because you can also get your hands on milk chocolate ganache with swirls of caramel and the brand’s signature Chilled Chocolixer drink, where you can choose from flavours including white chocolate, white chocolate with raspberry, or milk or dark chocolate.
Rixos Premium Dubai JBR,

The Irish Village
Set on the first floor of the new Studio One hotel, the new pub is a brighter, shinier version of the original, and will be marking its opening with ten days of all-day happy hour prices – meaning selected pints start from just Dhs35. The terrace is set to be an ideal spot to watch the sport come winter, given the 220-capacity area is home to an enormous screen for big matches. There are also four screens on the walls in the pub’s 150-capacity interior, on which they’ll be showing “all the sports available in Dubai”. The pub will also be putting on live music seven nights a week.
