Four new afternoon teas to try in Dubai
Shakespeare and Co.

Beluga
What’s fancier than a caviar afternoon tea? Not many things, and if you’re one for a posh afternoon tea then this could be for you. Beluga, the first caviar-themed restaurant in Dubai, has a tea that serves up traditional dishes – with a fishy twist. Think smoked salmon blinis, sturgeon shrimps and beetroot praline with Kaluga caviar, smoked eel sandwich, scones with Royal Baerii caviar and tempting tea choices. Sweet tooth? Try the spiced caramel and chocolate tart, blueberry muffins and petite macarons. How very refined.
Dhs245. Daily 2pm-6pm. Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Jumeirah 1 (04 340 8882).

Caesars Bluewaters Dubai
This Las Vegas import’s Caesars Imperial Afternoon Tea is specially inspired by the Roman Empire, so expect a royal time. There are  plenty of European and Asian savoury treats on the menu. Even better, there isn’t just one place to take on this new meal as the Caesars Imperial Afternoon Tea can be had at the Roman Lounge or The Piazza with spectacular views of the Arabian Gulf, or with the buzzing backdrop of the JBR skyline at The Piazza.
Dhs185. Daily 2pm-6pm. The Piazza, Caesars Resort Bluewaters Dubai; Roman Lounge, Caesars Palace Bluewaters Dubai (04 556 6466).

Shakespeare and Co.
Tea on a shoestring? Enjoy mini sandwiches, macarons, chocolates and more for under Dhs100 at this cute tea spot. The newly launched afternoon tea will be served daily from 3pm to 6pm at all branches across the UAE excluding The Dubai Mall and comes in at Dhs69 per person. The pocket-friendly deal includes the choice of one tea or one coffee, a selection of bread, butter and jams, a trio of mini sandwiches (salmon toast, club sandwich and the option between a chicken or beef slider), one individual cake, four pieces of chocolate served in a box and the choice of any two macaron flavours.
Dhs69. Daily 3pm-6pm. Locations include Arabian Ranches, Dubai Marina Mall, Palm Jumeirah, www.shakespeare-and-co.com.

W Dubai - The Palm
This trendy hotel has an equally cool afternoon tea for fashion-lovers. T-Time at W Lounge offers classic treats, in a fashion-themed tea. Highlights include raspberry lips and framboise lipstick, mango passion kisses, green tea tiramisu and an impressive chocolate coated stiletto. There are also sandwiches, bagels, freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and strawberry jam. The classic afternoon tea just had a stylish revamp.
Dhs165 (tea), Dhs98 (glass of bubbly). Daily 3pm-5.30pm. W Dubai The Palm, Palm Jumeirah (04 245 5533/4)
