Give us any excuse and we’ll celebrate an “International Something Day” like it’s going out of fashion. Next up is International Croissant Day, and we’re not flaking out on this one (sorry…).

On Thursday January 30, you can get in on the celebrations for International Croissant Day at two Dubai restaurants, each of which are offering free croissants up. How do you claim? Well, there are two eateries where you can get your freebie.

On Thursday, the big day, you’ll be able to head to Brunch and Cake, the café and coffee shop in Jumeirah, and you’ll get to choose a completely free croissant when purchasing a main. The first 100 customers to get a main course will be given a free choice of dessert croissant. Take your pick from a range of different options, including the rose croissant topped with melted white chocolate and stuffed with a white rose cream filling, a Nutella croissant or even a second savoury option with a zataar croissant filled with grilled halloumi, zataar and saffron. Or, if that’s all a bit too much, just go for a plain butter croissant.

Over in JLT’s Couqley French Bistro, there’s something a little bit more haute happening. The deal remains the same (buy a main, get a free croissant), but the croissant is a tad different. It’s called the gâteau de croissant aux fraises et à la crème – a strawberry and cream croissant cake. This dessert will be served for free to all diners who chow down a main course on Thursday January 30.

But if you miss the chance for a freebie, it’ll stay on the menu until the end of the weekend for Dhs39.
Brunch and Cake: Free. Thu Jan 30, 8am-10.30pm. Block C, Wasl 51, Jumeirah 1 (800 472 6362).
Couqley: Free. Thu Jan 30, noon-2am. Cluster A, JLT (04 514 9339).
