Head to two of Dubai’s most inventive Indian restaurants this week

If you’re in a quandary over your weekend plans, there are plenty of fantastic restaurants to head to in Dubai if you’re in search of some top grub.

That’s particularly true when it comes to Indian cuisine, and especially Trèsind and its younger, quirkier sibling, Carnival by Trèsind. Two dining concepts manged by Passion F&B, they also represent two restaurants of the 13 Dubai establishments to have ever made it on to the 50 Best Discovery list by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants.

The goal from Passion is to “change perceptions about the limitations of Indian cuisine” on a global level, and help continue the development of Dubai’s culinary scene. Led by Bhupender Nath, Trèsind is a dedication to his homeland, and features a range of contemporary gourmet Indian dishes at the voco Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road. It’s a sophisticated and imaginative culinary journey that sees courses punctuated with novel palate cleansers, dry ice aplenty and tasty dishes.

Carnival, meanwhile, is the funkier younger sister restaurant based in Dubai’s DIFC, welcoming the range of cultures native to Dubai’s corporate business hub throughout the week and laying on some out-there dishes (plus particularly inventive mixed drinks. The menu and dishes change seasonally, to keep up with peak seasons for produce and to keep giving you reason to return - and you'll want to.
