Are you looking for an unmistakably authentic Greek experience in the heart of Dubai? Fun-loving Fairmont Dubai restaurant OPA Dubai is one to put on your to-visit list.
Found on Sheikh Zayed Road, a night at this gorgeous restaurant promises a bit of zorba dancing, performances featuring traditional dancing and some fresh-as-they-come dishes from the country that brought us philosophy, central heating, the lighthouse and even the alarm clock – Greece.
And if you’re after a taste of something traditional, you can now get your hands on a brand-new dish – the chicken kontosouvli, succulent roasted skewered chicken carved freshly at your table with all the theatrics you’d expect from this lively restaurant. It’s cooked over an open charcoal pit, and served alongside a fresh zesty salad, a side of tzatziki, some fresh potato chips and more.
It’s basically generations of Greek traditions all rolled into one dish – and it’s available from Wednesday to Saturday.
And we’ve not even touched on the plate smashing just yet. Every night of the week OPA is home to live performances of classic Greek entertainment, whether it’s traditional dancing, a bit of zorba dancing and, of course, smashing them plates.
Take a break from your dinner, and get ready to do some Insta-bragging of the highest order.
Open Sat-Wed 7pm-1am, Thu-Fri 7pm-2am. Fairmont Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road (04 357 0557).
