If you’re looking for vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free dining, make a beeline to Bounty Beets. This place is a treat for Instagram fans looking for a healthy breakfast in Dubai, as it’s kitted out in pretty pastels and super-cute décor. Everything is fresh, tasty and healthy and dishes on the (puntastic) breakfast menu include “I yam what I yam” (caramelised bananas and sweet potato pancakes) and “you’re all I avo wanted” (avocado toast with poached eggs). There are loads of vegan and gluten-free options too.

is what happens when healthy eating meets Parisian taste. The super-chic café specialises in organic food and local produce, and recipes are primarily vegan, raw and gluten-free. The à la carte breakfast menu features healthy dishes like gluten-free buckwheat pancakes with fresh berries, vegan scrambled eggs (made using chickpeas) and almond butter oatmeal porridge, as well as fresh juices made with organic fruits and vegetables.

Friends’ Avenue Café

If you’re in Jumeirah Lakes Towers and want to start your day with a hearty, healthy breakfast, head to this casual, family-friendly spot. The menu features healthy açaí bowls, organic scrambled eggs or a big breakfast board and it also does great coffees.

Gossip Café

You can be sure you’re getting a decent start to the day if you choose to have breakfast here. With juices so fresh they zing, alongside organic and gluten-free choices, this is a healthy spot to relax at. Try the gluten-free porridge with dates and cinnamon for a taste of the Middle East.

Formerly known as The Surf Café, this chilled-out haven near the beach serves wholesome, healthy breakfasts with a variety of egg dishes, French toast and breakfast wraps with hash browns as well as vegan dishes, dim sum, poke bowls and bento boxes for later on in the day. Perfect for a post-dip refuel (surfing not compulsory).

Pineapple Express

Pineapple Express calls itself a “superfood café” where everything on the menu is “good for your insides”. You can get your hands on healthy vegan breakfast bowls including the gym junkie – that’s açaí, coconut water, banana, mango, vegan protein, granola, shaved coconut and fruits. We approve.

Projeto Açaí

This casual and quirky eatery serves up a range of health-conscious breakfast options including avo’ on toast, but as the name suggests try the açaí bowls. We love the “Berry Bowl” which is topped with raspberries, blueberries and homemade walnut granola and if you’re feeling extra nutty get the homemade peanut as an add-on.

Roseleaf Café

This homegrown café boasts gluten-free and healthy all-day breakfasts and there are plenty of veggie-friendly options on the menu. The avocado smash is ideal for those of us who can’t make a decision: three slices of chickpea and pumpkin loaf are toasted and topped with a tasty, spicy avo smash and a variety of toppings from feta to pickled beetroot. Scrummy and good for you.

Society Café & Lounge

This casual spot in Jumeirah is top for a healthy breakfast. The breakfast menu is split in two – with choices limited to a bowl of healthy ingredients or eggs cooked in a variety of ways – plus the pancakes. Coffee can be made with your choice of almond, coconut or lactose-free milk, too, so everyone is well catered for.

Stomping Grounds

If you're looking for top places for breakfast in Dubai, you can't do better than Stomping Grounds. The cool, popular café in Jumeirah took home the award for Best Breakfast at the Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards 2020 and the options are vast with plenty of healthy options available. The summer porridge is an absolute hit – made up of a quinoa and oat base featuring zingy orange zest and crunchy green apple and hazelnuts, topped with a rainbow of fresh fruits, you’ll be well on your way to five a day.
