Time Out Says
While this opulent North Indian restaurant is absolutely stunning in its setting at the One & Only Royal Mirage, the food seriously lacks punch. “North Indian cuisine” is somewhat of a misnomer, actually – the food here is eclectic and unique, and reading the menu will genuinely get you excited for a seriously good dinner (lobster crêpes with carrot and cardamom sauce, anyone? Or saffron and thyme chicken tikka with avocado raita?). Unfortunately, if you’re looking for some of that intense, moreish flavour the cuisine is well-known for, then you’ll be somewhat disappointed. It lacks spice, salt and a general depth of flavour that’s surprising for such creatively conceived dishes. The food here is really good, just not what you might expect. That doesn’t stop it from being popular with tourists, however, so perhaps they really are onto something.
