Time Out Says
Stunning verdant shrubbery-lined walls and ceiling greet your arrival at this fine dining Greek restaurant, as does a rickety “old” bench swing, a taverna-style central dining area and shiny, reflective panelled walls which line your approach to the bathrooms. Practically every inch of this place is staggeringly photogenic.
So, too, is the entertainment, because this gorgeous space at Fairmont Dubai is plate-smashingly, heel-tappingly, Zorba-the-Greek-dancingly, “OPA!”-shoutingly good fun.
The food is super, too, and as well as tasty mains there’s a lengthy list of gorgeous, rich and filling mezze to share.
Some of the particularly stunning dishes on the menu include the grilled halloumi served in a beautiful fig and grape jus (with, refreshingly, no squeak). While filling your table full of dishes, also take a look at the flaming saganaki cheese pie, the feta and lemon gnocchi with a spicy lamb ragout and the fiery red pepper and feta cheese dip – all of which are absolute winners.
The stone oven has a tonne of baked, bready options including the ladenia – featuring spiced aubergine, sundried tomatoes and labneh.
While the main menu features a combination of steaks (including an Australian wagyu rib-eye), lamb shoulder with mint jus, and a
salt-baked sea bass fillet.
Wait for the plate smashing and table spinning dance performances later in the evening – and you won’t be disappointed. We’d recommend leaving your phones locked (Insta can wait) and just enjoying it for what it is – a brilliant restaurant full of great food, and lively entertainment.
