Time Out Says
Service comes with a cheery smile rather than lashings of style at this popular Lebanese eatery with its earthy roots entrenched in old Dubai. Based in the heart of busy Al Rigga, this venue has a welcoming, community feel. Diners pack into the outdoor terrace to chat away the day while tucking into wholesome Lebanese fare. No frills it may be, but Al Safadi provides good quality food at great value. The generous portions are brought to your table swiftly by the polite staff who are kept on their toes by the steady flow of customers keeping tables filled. We kick off with the lahme beajine, a crispy mini-pizza like dough, filled with spicy, marinated meat. It is a tasty, traditional appetiser that we follow up with a delicious chicken shawarma platter, a mountain of meat served with warm Lebanese bread and a side of fries. Refined it might not be, but like Al Safadi itself, it is a satisfying example of Lebanese cuisine that is worth revisiting.
