Antique Bazaar

A cosy restaurant with an extensive menu that's perfect for sharing

Time Out Says

This small, cosy and wonderfully decorated restaurant is located in Four Points by Sheraton, Bur Dubai. Entertainment is provided in the form of a traditional sitar player creating a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere.

The menu options are extensive and are handily split into sections, meat and vegetarian, while there’s also a bonus of Antique Bazaar specials, which make deciding a lot easier. However, if you’re still struggling then the helpful waiters will happily recommend dishes for you.

The food here is designed to be shared so we opt for a couple of starters and mains between us. One of the best things about this restaurant, when they get it right, is the flavours in the dishes. Half of our dishes are packed with spices and scents that we just can’t get enough of, the other half unfortunately don’t quite have the same effect.

We highly recommend the subz khurchann, which is vegetables cooked with tomatoes, onions, mango powder and black onion seeds. If it sounds like a handful, well it is, but in the best way possible.

Our mains arrive while we’re still eating our starters, which is usually a sign of bad time keeping in the kitchen but somehow it works here. Mainly because the food is for sharing so other party members can tuck in without waiting for the slow eaters.

Happily, because everything on the menu works very well together, it doesn’t matter if you have two different courses on your plate, so while not ideal, it’s not a deal breaker.

The bottom line
Worth popping into if you’re in the area, but not worthy of a long journey on its own.
