Time Out Says
The most striking element of the dining experience here lies outside the restaurant itself. Located within the Burj Khalifa, your arrival at the hotel from premium Italian designer Armani is filled with the eye-widening sparkle and wonder that you’d expect.
Once you’re through the front doors, though, you’re met with a somewhat dark and dated interior.
You can expect some lofty prices but fantastic service. It’s friendly, knowledgeable, fun and you can tell that the waiting staff are enthusiastic about the food they’re serving up.
Dishes are rich, full of flavor and inventively created. Particular highlights include fagotti parcels with smoked ricotta, pumpkin and mint – a rich but extremely satisfying dish. A showstopper is the chestnut flour tagliatelle, served atop a veal shank ragu, with lemon-infused asparagus and gremolata (a lemon zest, garlic and parsley sauce).
Beautifully balanced, with a smooth edge to the ragu and an ever-so-slightly zesty hint from the asparagus and gremolata. If there’s one dish that will keep us coming back, it’s that.
You’ll also find many main courses to share, including a 500g slab of grilled beef with truffle mash and vegetables a la plancha, plus giant grilled prawns to share and more. But what is a dining experience in the world’s tallest tower without a dessert made with 24-karat gold? And you can enjoy just that by ordering one of the special chocolate mousse desserts, topped with a light smattering of gold.
One for special occasions.
