Time Out Says
A vegetarian’s dream, this restaurant serves up generous portions of tasty and wallet-friendly dishes. There’s a long list of filled dosas plus an array of south Indian snacks, curries and breads. You’ll struggle to find many dishes costing more than Dhs25, so you can be sure of a budget feed. There aren’t many special features here – no views or flashy decor – and once you’ve eaten there’s no real need to hang around (and the staff will be quick to clear your plates). But the restaurant is clean and comfortable, and the hearty, wholesome vegetarian food is enjoyable. The dahl fry is a particular highlight, with a lovely creamy texture. Don’t miss out on the five taste uthappam, either; a snack made with batter and topped with various ingredients including onion and cheese, making them perfect for sharing.
