Sleek Madinat spot that serves up stunning views but forgettable nibbles
Time Out Says
We’re big fans of Bahri Bar. We like its relaxed charms and sleek style. We adore the quirky Arabian-inspired décor and appreciate the lovingly attentive service. We’re very fond of the funky-world-jazz-tinged trio, just as we are their mixed drinks. And we simply adore the terrace views of the Burj Al Arab and the sprawling Madinat vista. But the food? Bahri bar’s kitchen offers a tight menu of what can only be described as overpriced high-end snacks/nibbles. They’re served as tiny, tapas-style dishes but with a vastly inflated price tag akin to that of a main course; expect to spend around Dhs50 for just a few bites. It’s not that we dislike the concept. It’s just that the bar’s offerings simply aren’t memorable enough to warrant their cost or even our full attention, which is a real shame, because everything else about this bar is really rather good.
