Every now and then, you’ll come across a restaurant that ticks almost every box imaginable. And when it’s situated in what is arguably one of Dubai’s most iconic hotels, you know you’re on to something very good.

Walking into Seafire, guests are instantly greeted by the smell emanating from the marvellously positioned open kitchen, and encouraged to treat themselves to an aperitif from the comfortable bar area.

We know starters sometimes get overlooked if you’re dining out, but if you come to this steakhouse (and you should, we didn’t award it a Highly Commended title in 2018 for no reason) then make sure you try the beef short rib doughnuts, topped with charcoal Parmesan dust. It’s something you’re unlikely to have had before, and it’s a revelation as far as we’re concerned.

There’s a wide choice of steaks, ranging through the marble grading and with price points that reflect that. But whether you’re going for the US Angus in the Dhs200-300 price range, or if you’re gunning for the wagyu beef with a marble rating that’s off the charts and coming in at the best part of Dhs1,000 (really), you are guaranteed an expertly prepared, delicious cut of beef.

Vegetarians and pescatarians are welcome, with a range of fish and seafood dishes also available, and you’ll also find some extravagant sharers on the dessert menu that, if your belly allows, are worthy of your attention.

This family-friendly café gets so much right, thanks to a well-thought out menu that caters for all tastes. Tasty treats include tiny baguette sandwiches with flavour-packed fillings such as chicken satay and cream cheese and miniature bagels with salmon. Kids love the cute little glass milk bottles topped with a crumbly chocolate chip cookie, too. You can choose from a wide variety of wholesome main courses, including Mexican omelettes, ricotta pancakes and the creamiest mac ’n’ cheese we’ve tried.
