Time Out Says
That being said, the décor is combination of modern, Ritzy-styled class and Asian chic. The kitchen is partly open, while the huge central bar is beautiful.
There’s also a gorgeous terrace with views over the lush landscaped gardens below.
Service is slick – staff are friendly, courteous and willingly make menu recommendations (that aren’t just the pricier options like black cod or wok-fried lobster).
Food is served swiftly, the menu is versatile and ticks off prominent dishes from multiple countries. We do punt for the miso black cod – much to our own good fortune as it’s as delicious as they come. That melty, moreish kind of delicious that puts smiles on faces.
The mixed dim sum are perfectly fine. But when paying Dhs99 for six dim sum, we’re not after fine. We want exceptional. Where’s the surprise ingredients?
The little bit of oomph that’ll make us sit up and remember it?
Black cod aside, it’s missing that “wow factor”, that ingredient that will leave you telling colleagues, friends, taxi drivers or anyone that will (and won’t) listen to you about it. There are livelier places that are more memorable out there these days.
