Boutique Le Chocolat
Time Out Says
Coming in at a staggering Dhs1,450 for eight finger-food-sized bites, the 24K Swiss chocolate truffles from De Lafee are available now at Boutique Le Chocolat in City Walk. Singles can be picked up for Dhs150, pr kilo comes in at Dhs15,000.
The new outlet at City Walk is unlike any other chocolate shop in the city, a bespoke chocolatier redefining indulgence with an array of hand-crafted and personalised chocolates from 28 different brands around the world.
There is Cocoa Kitchen, a cocoa-focussed eatery beside the boutique, where every dish is dusted with raw chocolate; yes, even the savoury kind, while the shelves are lined with over 700 different flavours of bonbons and chocolate bars.
But more than just shopping, the team want you to get involved.
Boutique Le Chocolat hosts an hour-long Bespoke Chocolate Experience classes where the master chocolatier first takes you through a tasting experience. You’re then given the chance to make your own bar of chocolate with a customised design and name. You are also given an educational tour about cocoa beans from different parts of the world, and what makes them all unique in texture and flavour.
Oh, and you can take four bars of “Unicorn’s Kingdom” (or any other fun name you can think of) home after you’ve melted and moulded it.
