Time Out Says
Brunello is best visited at lunch time, when you can sit out on the terrace surrounded by gardens that lead down to the pool and beach; it’s a pleasant way to get out of the city and the main reason to visit. Unfortunately, the restaurant is rarely busy, so it’s not a particularly buzzing spot for a meal, but sitting out in the afternoons is calm and peaceful. The lunch menu is a concise selection of salads, sandwiches and pizza (liberal toppings and lovely crispy base, but only available at lunch time), while the regular menu has pasta, risottos and meat and seafood mains. Mains are big, hearty portions. The stuffed baby chicken, for example, comes with stewed lentils, spicy cauliflower, asparagus and black truffle, or beef tenderloin with smoked goose ham, asparagus and spinach. In general the food is pretty good and portions are large. Seafood dishes are nice and fresh, for example, and the pasta is tasty but nothing to write home about; with this in mind a meal here is a on the pricey side.
