Time Out Says
With its multiple awards proudly hanging in the window, this is a Time Out Dubai favourite, and for good reason. In short, the food is outstanding, the service spot on and the no-frills setting and family-friendly ambience inviting and relaxed. You’ll see families of three generations, couples and individuals all enjoying the excellent, authentic south Indian fare. It gets busy, too, so be prepared to wait for a table to become free. Ask for recommendations and staff will quietly (and expertly) match your desires for a fish, meat or vegetarian dish. The pandanas chicken and peppery grilled paneer are full of deliciously bold flavours. As well as what’s on the regular menu, look to the daily specials listed at the till, which can offer up some fantastic surprises – the chembally fish doing exactly this, drenched in a thick, spicy coconut-based sauce. All to be enjoyed with some of the fluffiest, flakiest, most delicious buttery Kerala paratha you’ll find in the city. For such tasty food, the value is second to none. A meal of two will set you back less than Dhs150. For that, you can’t go wrong.
