Time Out Says
This chic restaurant from chef Izu Ani somehow manages to pull off an eclectic fusion of bistro (the black iron chairs and mosaic-clad tables), brasserie (the Tiffany blue banquettes) and fine dining perfectly.
The interiors are white-washed and fresh, with baskets of vibrant lemons and loaves of crusty home-baked bread adding to the Mediterranean vibe. Outside the terrace overlooks the rolling greens of the golf course - but book well in advance as during the cooler month it’s hard to get an al fresco table.
Named after his wife, carine, Ani’s Emirates Golf Club restaurant offers a relaxed approach to top-notch food.
Simple-sounding starters, including creamy burrata with marinated peppers and grilled harissa prawns, really set the bar high right from the off. But the light, fresh green bean salad laced with apple, grapes and delicious little bites of foie gras is the real stand-out. Don’t miss the onion tart, either, for buttery, flaky pastry decorated with a tasty topping.
The culinary prowess continues with rib-eye that is full of flavour, and a juicy butterflied marinated chicken that’s a top seller with good reason.
If you love fish there are plenty of delicious options here, from seafood risotto – packed full of fish and flavour – to lobster linguine, which is unctuous and moreish with rich, tomatoey sauce. The seafood ravioli is also a hit, while lamb chops are perfectly tender and will be a winner for carnivores.
Save room for dessert, the gooey and moreish marshmallow brownie is the perfect end to a relaxed and charming date night for chocolate-lovers, while the tarte tatin is well worth ordering ahead of your main course.
A top date night spot and a wonderful restaurant to take visitors to.
