Time Out Says
This beach club in Jumeirah Beach Hotel has one major selling point: stunning views. Take a seat in the cosy wicker armchairs or bar seats outside and you’ll be able to look out onto the Burj Al Arab. The design of the club is stunning, too – it wouldn’t look out of place on the classiest coasts of France or California. Beyond its rather lovely appearance, one of Cove Beach’s most charming features is the service – the staff are warm, welcoming, approachable and helpful. The menus differ depending on where you sit, with much more choice if you sit inside. You’ll find a list of Mediterranean/French dishes, including pasta dishes, meat and seafood. Try the salmon carpaccio for a pretty plate of beautifully-fresh fish, as saturated in flavour as it is in colour. Although not cheap, the strip loin is a lovely piece of meat, while the dover sole is bathed in butter and has a butter-caramelised crust that adds a lovely contrast from the soft flakes inside. Cove Beach is a really wonderful spot, with the service and quality of the food excellent, and the setting is truly special. But you do pay for this, and you’ll notice the bill creeping towards Dhs1,000.
