Creekside Japanese Restaurant
No frills all-you-can eat Japanese joint in Deira
Time Out Says
The all-you-can-eat classic Japanese buffet is usually reserved for Friday-morning brunches, but Creekside makes a habit of it, serving everything from sushi rolls to seafood barbecue. In this respect, guests who visit for an a la carte experience might be confused when the hostess launches into a detailed account of everything from the food stations to explaining the system by which seafood is barbecued outside (it involves clothes pegs attached to plates, in case you were wondering). While the atmosphere is uncharacteristically muted, the Japanese fare is decent – time it right and a visit to the tempura station will reap freshly battered vegetables or prawns and the maki rolls are replenished regularly. The live noodle station is another nice surprise, but the highlight is the aforementioned seafood barbecue. Waitresses are on hand to advise how each fish or crustacean should be cooked, and the chefs at the outdoor barbecue oblige accordingly – they even deliver the grilled delicacies back to your table, clothes peg and all.
