Time Out Says
When Jumeirah Beach Hotel abbreviated its resident bar, Dhow & Anchor, it also gave it a major upgrade. Now it’s still as busy as it ever was, but alongside the sports playing (fairly discreetly) on the bar-side screens and hearty roasts with all the trimmings, is a broader, quality menu to entice families wanting that little bit more from their well-priced weekend meal. (Jamie’s Italian, at the other end of the hotel, must now be keeping a nervous eye on it.) Outside is a great terrace with views of the Burj Al Arab, but inside it’s often very busy too, with punters of all ages tucking into excellent fish and chips, quality chicken goujons, crispy whitebait and the best Scotch egg we’ve found anywhere in Dubai. (Though, to be fair, it’s not a long list.) This is one of the most reliable places to stop for a relaxed, quality spot of pub grub.
