Delhi Darbar Restaurant
Time Out Says
With branches dotted around Old Dubai, you can count on this trusty Mumbai chain for a hearty, tasty meal at a very reasonable price. Visit the Za’abeel Road branch for something a step up from the usual cafeteria-style dining; it’s hardly silver service, but expect more comfortable surroundings and personable staff, who will happily recommend the most popular and their own favourite dishes from the wide range available. It’s hard to pick a star dish from a menu crammed full of excellent choices, including succulent, salty tandoori chicken, rich tomato-y kadai curries and satisfying dals. Wrap them or mop them up with piping hot breads – a butter-soaked naan or stretchy roomali roti if you’re feeling indulgent, or a doughy tandoori roti if you’re watching the waistline – and wash it all down with a refreshing yoghurt lassi. A very reliable option, wherever you might find yourself in the oldest parts of town.
