Set over three floors, the aptly-named Tre (meaning “three” in Italian) is an elegant and modern venue. Dinner is served on the 49th floor of the Nassima Royal, with fantastic views over the city, while the decor is a sophisticated with fun splashes of orange. You’ll find plenty of tradition on the menu, with pizzas, carpaccios and an entire page dedicated to charcuterie. There are also some modern touches, and the use of sought-after ingredients such as black truffle and bottarga, which goes someway to explaining the high prices. The cooking standard is high, too. From the starters, the smoked eggplant is a neat little toast-like soldier of soft, smoky, sweet eggplant, sitting next to a rich, tangy, molten disk of baked cheese. Main courses are just as strong, especially the squid ink risotto with cuttlefish, which is uniquely presented with strips of silver leaf on the top. After dinner, you can head up to the 50th floor, where there’s a lounge bar, while on the 51st is a smaller bar with live jazz. Excellent food and good times await at this intriguing Italian.
