Family Italian restaurant in the Jumeirah Beach Residence
Time Out Says
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009Your meal at Duo Ristorante kicks off with a bowl of clotted, green mousse. It turns out to be garlicky, green olive spread, and a tasty one at that, if a bit, well, odd. That seems to be a theme that carries through to the rest of the food, too.
It all looks normal enough: the menu is a mishmash of burgers, carpaccio, pizza and risotto, but, it all ends up tasting similar, in that none of it’s particularly good. Some enthusiasm may be found by those who are simply famished and are too busy wolfing the food to notice the brown spots on the beef carpaccio, unthawed salmon tartar and glutinous risotto.
But if you like to use your eyes and taste buds when eating, you are likely to be disappointed. Duo Ristorante is certainly not a place to take a gourmand, but, with myriad options and low prices, it’s probably perfect for those who crave a cheap-and-cheerful takeaway spot.
