Time Out Says

Since the new part of Mall of the Emirates opened, it has been busy. Every day, for the full day. In that new extension, there are about ten places to eat, from independent cafés to global chains, and from fast food dim sim restaurants to churrascarias. There is also the city’s second branch of Eat Greek (after The Beach, JBR).
It has very “now” décor (wooden palettes on the wall, exposed A/C, mix and match furniture), making it a surprisingly pleasant place to eat, especially in a mall. As you’d expect for a chain, service is efficient. The menu has every Greek classic (kleftiko, moussaka), as well as pitta, Greek salad (of course), burgers and small plates.

The moussaka burger is good value. The just-pink pattie is topped with béchamel (it could do with a little more), smoky aubergine, and caramelised onions. The wholemeal bun falls apart beneath, which makes it a little messy. The potatoes it comes with could also do with some seasoning. The baked feta is a winner taste-wise, but the portion, for Dhs65, is a little stingy. There is better value in the juicy lamb meatballs.

The mall plates are tasty, but watch out for the bill stacking up as you order.

The bottom line
A pleasant place to try entry-level Greek.
