Time Out Says
There are few food experiences in Dubai like the one served up by Em Sherif. Here, you won’t be presented with a menu. Instead, you’ll be given dish after dish of Lebanese fare, through hot and cold mezze, grills and desserts. It’s quite an onslaught, and you’d be well advised to take it steady (in fact, the staff give this very warning at the start). All in all, you’ll get about 30 dishes delivered to the table – a bowl of creamy hummus placed to your left, a huge pile of bread to your right and a tangy helping of fattoush dished out onto your plate. This scene of food madness unfolds in a grand, ornate, silverware-decked venue of opulence, where you’re waited on by an army of suited staff. All of this – as you would expect – comes at quite a price, but for the experience, it’s just about worth it. Every plate of food is explained in detail, and you’ll be encouraged to try everything, even those dishes unfamiliar to you. This is where Em Sherif makes the most sense, as a place where you can broaden your culinary horizons.
