Okku wins Japanese food award

Time Out talks to the Okku team about their best Japanese restaurant award

In spite of the tough competition, trendy Dubai hotspot OKKU carried off the 2011 Time Out award for Best Japanese.

The restaurant beat their famous rivals Nobu and Zuma due to its infallible sushi and impeccable attention to detail.

When we caught up with Markus Thesleff from OKKU he was ecstatic about winning the prize and said, ‘When you’re competing against such names as Nobu and Zuma, you have to be at the top of the game because these guys are the best in the world’. Jokingly (or at least we think so) Thesleff added that he’ll be taking the whole restaurant team to Las Vegas to celebrate.
