Eat in a celebrity restaurant

It is hard to pinpoint the exact moment when the world’s most notorious chefs were known as much for their television appearances as they are for the quality of their kitchens. But there is no denying that we are living in the age of the celebrity chef and Dubai is a popular market for restaurant openings. Gordon Ramsay, Gary Rhodes, Jamie Oliver, Pierre Gagnaire, Sanjeev Kapoor, Marco Pierre White, Richard Sandoval and Matsuhisa Nobu all have restaurants in the city. That’s not to mention the celebrities from other fields such as Asha Bhosle and Frankie Dettori putting their names to restaurants here. Chances are that you won’t see the big names themselves in the kitchens but standards are usually high with the eponymous stars striving for excellence to protect their name and investment.
Despite a glut of celebrity-inspired kitchens in Dubai the most famous is probably Verre by Gordon Ramsay. Open Sunday-Friday 7pm-midnight. Hilton Dubai Creek, Deira. (04 227 1111). Click here to see more celebrity restaurants in Dubai.
