Dine in a Karama curryhouse

When Time Out labeled Karama the curry corridor it was recognition of the abundance of quality, cheap Indian food running through the heart of the district. This is where our restaurant editor comes when he needs to escape the fine dining fanciness found elsewhere in the city. Armed with little more than a Dhs50 note and an impulsive nature he and a friend are usually found tucking into thali platters, fluffy breads and spicy curries. We’re rather taken with Manvaar, Calicut paragon and Curry Toast but with more than 20 restaurants all in walking distance we implore you to explore.
Open daily noon-3pm, 7pm-midnight. 20b Street, Karama. (04 336 8332).
