Classy and sophisticated, it's more long, lazy lunch than all-day brunch


What’s on offer?
This Thai-themed brunch offers an á la carte menu with all manner of exotic tastes from the popular South East Asian cuisine. If you visit with limited knowledge of the dishes, ask the staff for ‘a bit of everything’ and they’ll only be too happy to oblige, serving dishes at regular intervals and never leaving you waiting for anything. Food consists of lots of small dishes, like Thai tapas, which is perfect for feasting over for several hours. We’d recommend starting with something light, like a fragrant salad, followed by fish and meat dishes, and then finishing with the impressive ice cream. There are also some great mixed fruit drinks available, with staff happy to prepare combinations upon request.

The venue?

The restaurant is situated in the gorgeous Park Hyatt Hotel in Deira and sits right on the water’s edge by the marina, with beautiful views and an airy, al-fresco space. And, of course, afterwards, you only have to walk 100 yards to the delightful Terrace Bar to continue with an outdoor beverage and watch the sun go down.

What sort of crowd turn out?

Couples young and old, and small groups make up most of the clientele, so it never gets particularly boisterous. Dining in such a sophisticated setting rubs off on the brunchers, who are polite and dress smartly. Chinos for the lads and heels for the ladies.

Room for improvement?

If we’re being picky, as there truly isn’t much to complain about, some traditional live music might be nice. Although not having music does let you chat to your companions without having to shout.

Standout dish?

All the dishes are delicious, nicely varying in spiciness. But the green papaya salad is one dish in particular that's worth a mention.
