The hotel’s traditional afternoon tea has been given a Christmas makeover, complete with complimentary spiced festive beverages and seasonal music. To fuel the Christmas countdown, there’s a giant advent calendar on one wall: doors will be opened every day at 4pm, to reveal surprise gifts for a few lucky guests. Families can also leave the little ones in the play room, to paint their own baubles, which will then be displayed on the hotel’s Christmas tree.

This seasonal tea, which kicks off on Saturday December 15, introduces a Christmas ambience with live music played throughout the afternoon by a harpist, and Christmas carols sung by a choir from 6pm each evening. Meanwhile, the selection of food on offer remains fairly traditional, featuring dainty finger sandwiches with fillings such as cucumber with cream cheese and smoked salmon, alongside mini cakes, pastries, and scones with clotted cream and jam.
