Declaring ‘no cards, only rewards’, this programme works through mobile phones, and all members need to do is register their number. Every time they spend in an Apparel Group store across the UAE (there are more than 40 brands and 450 stores across the country, including Aldo, New Yorker, Aeropostale and Tommy Hilfiger) points are earned, which can then be redeemed immediately or on the next purchase.

Le Club Accorhotels
Valid at 13 participating hotel brands, including Novotel, Sofitel, Pullman and Ibis properties, spending as little as Dhs50 will start to clock up points on this loyalty scheme. Those points can turn to rewards at the participating outlets (which have varying degrees of generosity so check around for the best deals) Once members earn 2,000 points, they will receive hotel vouchers to pay for a stay, use hotel facilities and even redeem discounts when booking online. This scheme has three tiers – the first two are free. Free movies with du Tuesdays
Those with du mobiles can buy one movie ticket and get one free on Tuesdays at Vox Cinemas.
All you need to do is SMS the word ‘MOVIE’ to 9979, and you’ll receive a code that you can use online or in person to purchase your tickets.

Free MMA sessions
Sign up for a free one-day trial pass at MMA Fitness gyms. Available only to non-members, it allows you to try out one class and use the fitness equipment at the gym. There’s no obligation to sign up after the trial, and all you have to do is call the branch you intend to visit to make an appointment. Make sure you bring your own towel.

Dubai’s hottest new Japanese restaurant offers a special three-course Joto lunch menu, featuring signature dishes such as pan-fried scallop with sweet pickled apple and jalapeno garlic dressing. The meal is accompanied by miso soup, edamame and green tea, and is a snip at just Dhs125.
