Salie Guirit, Vivel Patisserie

The Madinat staple reveals the secrets of success, as well as the key to keeping its place at the top for 10-years

Interview

You guys have been open for 10 years. Impressive! What’s your secret?
Well, we have very pleasant and friendly staff, while selling unique sweets that you can only get here means people keep coming back!

You have a huge range of sweets. Which are the most popular?

Definitely it’s the Iranian ones. They were the sweets we started with and they are what have made us a success.

Does that mean your clientele is mainly Iranian?
Yes, well, they are who come here most, but we are also popular with Russians, Arabs and Americans.

Do people tend to impulse-buy here or come for your gift boxes?
Our gift boxes are the most popular.

Why’s that?
You can choose your own combinations of sweets and the price is reasonable.

What are your favourites?
I’m with the customers – the Iranian sweets are the best!
