Farmers’ markets return! It’s time to embrace the great outdoors again, and what healthier way to start (in a foodie sense, that is) than by checking out a new season of farmers’ markets? Now back on the scene is Ripe Food & Craft Market (04 380 7602), which has moved to a new location at Zabeel Park, but is still taking place every Friday from 10am to 2pm. Head here to get your hands on fresh, local organic fruits and vegetables, plus check out local vendors selling handmade wares for both adults and kids. There’s also a petting zoo, live music, yoga, live cooking and much more to enjoy and take part in. Meanwhile, Blue Planet Green People in JLT (050 705 7230) is relaunching its farmers’ market in the last week of October, and Baker & Spice (www.bakerandspiceme.com) will put on its own local event once again at the end of November, returning to Jumeirah Emirates Towers. Want to get your hands on some farm-fresh produce indoors? Greenheart Organic Farms (www.greenheartuae.com) hosts a pop-up market every Saturday afternoon between 4pm and 6pm at Comptori 102 on Jumeirah Beach Road, selling fresh organic vegetables, organic free-range eggs and organic Lebanese fruit.
