A steakhouse moves into Jumeirah, try an indoor barbecue, organic produce is on the menu and we give vegan a go.

In a nod to its growing presence in the GCC and to announce its move into Jumeirah, SoHo Grill has launched the NYC Falafel Burger. The eatery has opened up in Wasl Vita Mall and will offer its new creation, served with mint yoghurt, tahini, lettuce, tomato and Soho secret sauce, alongside SoHo staples such as the SoHo Dawg, a choice of lamb and beef, accompanied with spicy chakalaka tomato sauce and fries. There are also premium cut steaks from New Zealand grass-fed, 200-day aged Australian angus, and tender wagyu. Salads and breakfasts are also available, as are the restaurant’s signature dishes including ribs, burgers and pizzas.

For those of you who love smoky food flavours and chargrilled, barbecue dishes there’s a new kid on the block to tempt your taste buds. Absolute Barbecues, also known as AB’s, features a menu tailored to the style of dishes served from charcoal burners and stoves – but indoors. The Dubai Media City outlet follows in the footsteps of its successes in India. Each table will have its own barbecue and a live cooking station where diners can choose from a selection of meat, seafood and vegetables to cook for themselves. Salads and side dishes are prepared by the kitchen, though, so you won’t need to make the whole meal. And chefs will be on-hand to offer recommendations. There is a ‘no-tips’ policy in place and offers include weekly brunches and buffet deals.

Meanwhile, if you want to give raw eating or veganism a try – and you want to do it from the comfort of your own home – Raw Bites is the company for you. Or maybe you’re already a vegan and struggle to find somewhere to eat out in Dubai. Either way, you can order from the firm’s online store and arrange home deliveries. The website also has a recipe section and blog to help people get more from their vegan or raw experience, as well as listings of products, restaurants, individual menu items, markets and retail stores, that cater to raw and vegan foodies in the city.
