Jeans tight and your budget even tighter after the holidays? If you’re on the verge of cutting your credit cards in half, stop. Help is at hand. Here are 20 excellent dining deals from breakfast through to dinner that you can enjoy (financially) guilt-free for Dhs50 or less per person.

Biryani Pot

This new spot, which specialises in biryani (including a recipe made with quinoa) offers a set price combo deal, which includes a choice of two curries, plus biryani or steamed rice, plain naan, poppadom, pickles, salad and raita.

During Dubai Food Festival, you can choose two courses prepared by our passionate chefs, with the finest Italian ingredients. Starting with soup or salad, followed by pizza or pasta, and ending with an Illy espresso for only Dhs39.

Sizzling Wok
Head to this pan-Asian eatery for a bargain lunch on an ongoing basis. The ‘3 for 33 deal’ includes a bento box with one starter, one main course and one dessert inside. Or, for a limited time, join in Sizzling Wok’s dim sum festival and indulge in unlimited dim sum, which includes seafood sumai, chicken bun, vegetable wonton and more.

Barrels Pub
This simple pub in Old Dubai’s Majestic Hotel Tower offers a number of food and drinks combo deals. If you are saving the pennies though, the pizza and pint deal scrapes in at just under Dhs50 per person.

Chez Sushi

The ‘bento happy hour’ at this Japanese inspired spot knocks Dhs15 off the price of à la carte bento dishes, bringing them down to Dhs50 each and under. Options include the sashimi and sushi bento and the chicken teriyaki bento, both of which come with mixed greens and steamed rice.

House of Curry

Enjoy a laid-back breakfast by the beach, but with an Indian twist. At House of Curry, the weekend breakfast deal includes treats such as masala dosa and egg bhurji.

Unsurprisingly, the winner of Time Out Dubai’s Best Budget Restaurant award has a few affordable treats up its sleeve for you to enjoy. The set price business lunch costs just Dhs39 and comes with a daily choice of main course dish, a dessert and a soft drink.

Manila Grill
This brand-new Filipino restaurant at the Asiana Hotel offers a combo lunch deal comprising a soup of the day, main course, rice and iced tea for a very nicely priced Dhs35 per person.

The ‘urban bar & kitchen’ serves a business lunch deal, which offers a choice of one main course for Dhs49. Options include a spiced lamb salad, green pea and mint risotto or fish and chips.

Original Wings and Rings
Take the family to this American-style fast food spot in DIFC for a choice of wings (regular and boneless), tenders, beef burger, chicken sandwich or pizza for just under Dhs40. There is also a separate kids menu available, as well as entertainment including clowns, face painting and balloon art, making this an affordable day of family fun.

Hako Sushi
At this low key, casual dining Japanese haunt (now with an additional branch in JBR), you can have an affordable lunch by choosing one of the bento boxes from the à la carte menu, which comes teamed with miso soup and a soft drink for Dhs49 per person.

Pie Face

This newly opened specialist in (you guessed it) pies, offers diners a choice of any three items from a menu of pies, rolls or quiches (including a chocolate pie for dessert).

Currently Dubai’s longest surviving Portuguese restaurant, this venue offers a business lunch promotion that gives diners a choice of main course with a side salad or soup, plus a soft drink or water.

Java Jolt

This new café in Dubai Silicon Oasis serves a selection of breakfast combo deals so you can kick-start your day in an affordable way. The combos include a freshly baked muffin, croissant, bagel or toast with a coffee (Dhs14), or scrambled egg and spinach with a coffee (Dhs25).

A haven for vegetarians on a budget, Rangoli restaurant specialises in Indian meat-free foods. Sample a full thali menu (including three vegetable curries, dahl, five chapatis, rice, pickle, curd and poppadom) made Gujarati-style.

The Scene by Simon Rimmer

An unexpected spot for a really budget meal, this British gastro haunt headed up by English celebrity chef Simon Rimmer, allows you to treat yourself with its ‘15-minute lunch’ deal, which features a choice of sandwich (egg mayonnaise or coronation chicken), soup of the day and either salad or chips as a side dish. Beautiful Marina views are thrown in for free, too.

KPOP Chicken

As you may well have guessed from its name, this venue’s signature dish is Korean-style fried chicken. Choose one of the dishes from the menu (which range from golden crispy original through to Gangnam Style – we kid you not), and you’ll get it teamed with salad, pickles and rice. Opt for a meal platter that serves two to three people, and it will cost you from Dhs89, working out at Dhs44.50 or Dhs29.66 per person.

Max’s Restaurant

If you want a bargain feast to share with friends, Filipino fried chicken chain Max’s offers a sharing deal for four people and the menu changes each month, so you can always try a new combination of dishes. Or, opt for the platter meal for one, which includes fried chicken, rice or fries, a wrap and a caramel bar.
