In a tweet: A relaxed sports bar serving up simple and satisfying food. Best for sports fans.
The venue: The restaurant and bar is located in DIFC’s Liberty House – not somewhere you’re likely to stumble across by chance. You might struggle to find it, but it’s not far from Financial Centre Metro Station. The vibe is casual at this American sports bar, with the sign at the door inviting guests to ‘eat, drink and talk loudly’. There is table football to play, plus various screens showing football, rugby and more.
The food: You order the food to your table here, for brunch. There are various marinade options for the chicken wings, including sweet barbecue, and lemon and pepper. You can order classic wings or the boneless style. A huge plate of nachos, with copious amounts of sour cream, salsa, chopped olives and guacamole, will also please the table. Other sides include the crispy onion rings and the hot and cheesy quesadillas. If you’re looking for something lighter, the plain Greek salad will come as a welcome relief.
The drinks: There’s a house beverage package with hops, mixed beverages and shorts, as well as a soft drinks option.
The crowd: Sports fans, groups of families and friends. This isn’t a fancy brunch, but if you want somewhere with a more relaxed atmosphere, with food at a good price, this is your place.
The dress code: Casual is fine.
The service: On the most part, staff Are relaxed, friendly and informed, reeling off the many flavours of wings available with ease.
Extras & entertainment: A DJ playing cheesy and party tunes, plus sport on the TVs. Lots of sports.
Highs & lows: Make sure you know where you stand if you have children – we were offered kids’ meals (for a one and three-year-old) but then were asked to pay extra. On the plus side, the boneless wings are perfect for kids; delicious and very tender, they’re served with hot, crispy fries. The highlight is definitely dessert, especially the dense chocolate cake with caramel crunchy topping, as well as the classic cheesecake.
The after party: The chance to stick around and watch whichever game is on.
