New Lebanese street food, Spanish fiestas, steak for two, and as much chaat as you can handle

September is here, and good news – it’s absolutely crammed with new things to eat.

Firstly, there’s the latest venue by the team behind Kris Kros. KK Lebanon will be located inside the Aspin Commercial Tower II on Sheikh Zayed Road. This new Lebanese street food spot will serve classic sandwiches and wraps as well as its speciality dish of soujouk shawarma.

Heading across the Med to Iberia, from Friday September 18, seafood restaurant Sea Fu is launching new Valencian afternoon menus. Available on the weekends from 1pm-4pm, Sea Fu will be offering guests unlimited servings of chicken and seafood paella, teamed with a glass of Spanish sparkling grape. The deal will be available for Dhs250 per person, for three courses.

Meanwhile, Casa de Tapas will be joining in the spirit of the Rugby World Cup, starting on Friday September 18 and running until Sunday November 1. During this time, the Creekside eatery will be offering a number of deals to diners who come to watch matches. There will be 14 screens and one large projector screen, while seven tables will also have their own individual TVs. Deals available during the matches will include pitchers of Spanish grape beverage for Dhs100 and deals on short drinks during penalties. There will also be offers on a tapas dishes from a menu that includes mushroom croquettes, padron pepper pisto, gazpacho, Spanish omelette and crispy chicken wings. The restaurant will also be issuing game cards to give you the chance to win vouchers for the venue, and if you watch five games at the tapas bar, they will give you a free T-shirt.

More September dining news comes from The Rib Room at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. Amid the recent spree of gents’ dining deals, this steakhouse goes one better with a couples’ ‘his and hers’ menu. It involves a three-course set menu, with a welcome drink and a parting gift for ladies. The promotion will be running every day during September, priced at Dhs620 per couple.

Finally, next month, Indian fusion spot La Porte des Indes is going against its fine dining grain with a street food promotion. From September 16-25, there will be a live chaat station, where you’ll be able to indulge in unlimited servings of specialities such as pani puri and dahi bhalla (lentil dumplings). Coconut water, lemon juice and chai will be available to drink. Also available on the street food menu will be kebab rolls, such as chicken kathi roll or mutton seekh kebab, plus Indian breads and desserts.

Until next week, bon appétit!
