How did The Salad Jar come about?
A friend from home, Vancouver, suggested I put my trademark quinoa salad in a mason jar for my husband to take to work for his lunch. He loved the convenience of eating straight from the jar while at his desk. He brought in a few for his colleagues and the feedback was great so I began to test more recipes and The Salad Jar was born.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Adapting quickly to changes. With a new business, things constantly need to be altered and you sometimes get stuck with an idea of how you think things should be.
What’s the best part of your job?
Interacting with customers and the opportunity to be part of a healthy community.
What’s the most popular salad?
The Mango Tango. It’s fresh, savoury, sweet and filling.
