Blind Dining

Forget watching what you eat for once and try Dubai’s newest craze, ‘blind dining’…

Don’t worry, it’s not a whole new dining concept you’ve missed. Anise at The Intercontinental at Dubai Festival City are just doing their bit for the environment – and making your evening, and your date, that bit more, well-lit.

For one hour between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Saturday March 28, the lights are going off and being replaced by candles as the restaurant shows its support for Earth Hour.

The idea of the campaign is to dim the globe for one hour in a bid to demonstrate the ease of reducing waste energy.

In addition to the hour of darkness, Anise restaurant will host a themed night of ‘Dark Dining’, remaining in candle light for the rest of the evening.

Along with the usual buffet and a la carte options, will be a special ‘Blind Dining’ experience promotion. A four course meal is preceded by a 10 dish menu of ‘taste elements’ designed to be eaten blind folded. An exceptional menu of tastes and textures will surprise and delight diners who are brave enough to put their trust in the charismatic Chef de Cuisine, Michael Baptiste.

Along with the special menu package, diners will also be picked up from their residence by a chauffeur driven new Hybrid Lexus. From the hotel’s luxury fleet, these cars are both comfortable and environmentally friendly, with engines that use a combination of both petrol and electricity for optimum performance and release 70% less harmful emissions.

The Blind Dining promotion costs AED 495 per person, excluding beverages, and with limited space available diners are advised to book early. For more information please call Restaurant Reservations on 04 701 1128 or email
